Inside News Of Harrison Ford's Return As Han Solo In Star Wars: The Force Awakens

By: Cannon Adams

Harrison Ford is back and more happier than ever especially after 38 years since 1977 Star Wars, finally saying he is now a Star Wars fan! Even after when he first broke his leg on set for The Force Awakens, Ford is still a fan. Lawrence Kasdan had to say this about Harrison Ford when he came back on set:

“It’s a strange kind of thing,” Kasdan says. “But there was this moment of pause, and when Harrison came back, he lit up the whole place. And he was so funny and warm and helpful to the young people, and generous with his old costars… I don’t know. It was kind of miraculous.”

Before The Walt Disney Co. bought the rights to Star Wars back in 2012, actors Harrison Ford, Mark Hamil and Carrie Fisher were recruited back to the Star Wars franchise. When Kathleen Kennedy approached Harrison Ford about coming back to Star Wars, Ford automatically said yes. There was no hassle for bringing him on to the new project.

Harrison Ford's presence around all the other old and new actors gave them all a warm feeling of happiness and excitement. Especially for actor John Boyega who plays Finn in Star Wars The Force Awakens when he walked over to Ford with a Han Solo merchandise for him to sign while on set. Here is what John Boyega had to say:

“I think what really got him excited was when he read the first draft, and he saw where we were going and what we were doing. He was immediately on board, and then he sat down and had a great conversation with J.J. and went through, in detail, what we were thinking about doing,” says Kennedy. “And then, you know, Harrison — and I’ve always found this over the years with the Indiana Jones films we’ve all done together — he’s incredibly collaborative when it comes to story and developing his character, and really engaged in the process. And he was every bit that on this film. “

Even though in the past when shooting the Original Trilogy when Harrison Ford debated back and forth with George Lucas and Irvin Kershner on some of the dialogues for Han Solo does not mean he did not care much for Han Solo, instead he loved the character. So after coming back to Star Wars after 32 years since Return of the Jedi, Harrison Ford is back home where it all began when he turned down of being a carpenter to be an actor in his first role in Star Wars A New Hope.
