In Depth Look: J.J Abrams Remembers The First Star Wars

By: Cannon Adams

A week ago, director J.J Abrams had a brief moment at the D23 Expo in Anaheim California with EntertainmentWeekly of the time when he first saw Star Wars when he was 11 years old. J.J Abrams comments this to EW:
“It didn’t look like anything I had ever seen,” he says. “It looked real, and it was a combination of everything great: It was really funny; it was romantic; it was sweeping and epic; it was incredibly intimate; it had an amazing message and impact. It was an incredibly powerful experience.”
During the time Abrams was filming the 2009 reboot of Star Trek, Abrams was always a long time fan of Star Wars. Abrams also tells EW:

George Lucas’ landmark film was the first movie to show him what the medium was capable of contributing to culture. “To get to play in that playground at all is an absolute honor,” he says.

We just have about 4 months total to see the long time fan show his version of the masterpiece of Star Wars on December 18th.
