"You sure the homing beacon is secure aboard their ship? I'm taking an awful risk Vader. This have better work"It is confirmed that one of the famous villains in the original Star Wars is returning to the big screen, Peter Cushing's Grand Moff Tarkin. According to TheGuardian, there will be a lot of CGI to be done in order to bring Peter Cushing back from the dead for Tarkin for next year's first spin off Rogue One. The Guardian states this:
“This is one of the most complex and costly CGI re-creations ever. Cushing is a pivotal plot line as he was the one to create Darth Vader and there’s a whole back story that will come out.”When we first heard a little while back that Darth Vader was going to be returning for Rogue One, it was quite obvious that we will also be seeing Tarkin as well. In the new canon novel Star Wars Tarkin, showed the relationship growth between both Vader and Tarkin before Lord Sidious appointed Tarkin to be Grand Moff and have him command the Death Star.
The one thing that is going to be hard for the directors and everyone working on Rogue One is the CGI. They are currently looking into tons of footage's other than Star Wars A New Hope to know every angle of his body, walk, basically Peter Cushing.
“They are going through hours and hours of old footage from the horror movies to recreate his legs and feet to produce realistic movements. It is eerie to see someone who has been dead for so long come to life on a screen.”But this makes so much sense for Tarkin to return as well as Vader. Without them would not make sense because by the looks of the trailer back at Celebration 7 in Anaheim California, the Death Star is completed outside of a planet. By that time, Tarkin will take the helm as captain of the Death Star along side with Vader. Right now there is no confirmation on who will be playing Vader and if James Earl Jones will be returning for that iconic voice we all come to love over the years.
Once they figure out and complete the CGI for Tarkin, everything should go swiftly easy. The movie is currently filming at Pinewood Studios where The Force Awakens also was being filmed. George Lucas and LucasFilm had a Australian actor named Wayne Pygram play the younger version of Tarkin for that little scene when Sidious and Vader was watching the Death Star being constructed. Will they be using Wayne Pygram again to helm the role as Tarkin or will they choose another actor?
Above is the first picture that we get to see so far for Rogue One. Rogue One takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope showing the struggle it took to steal the Death Star plans that we see the Empire chasing down Tantive IV at the beginning of A New Hope to retrieve the plans back. This movie is confirmed that it will be the darkest Star Wars movie because of the struggle. Star Wars The Force Awakens releases on December 18th and a year later will be the release of Rogue One.
