It's almost here! Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer will release during the Oct 9 football game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears.
Originally, the date was hinted at by Mark Hamill, the actor that portrays Luke Skywalker. Soon after, however, the tweet was deleted. This was not before it began to trend, with many fans wondering if Hamill had be reprimanded by LucasFilm or trying to figure out if this yet another one of the actor's many jokes.
Playing it off as a misunderstood joke, Hamill denied the claim until now. It has been confirmed that the trailer will air in two weeks during the NFL game. This is not a unique occurrence, as The Force Awakens second trailer had premiered during Monday Night Football and since Disney owns both ESPN and LucasFilm.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in American theaters on December 15.
